Gymkhana

Gymkhana is located at 42 Albemarle Street, Mayfair in a building that has a punch house from the 1600s at the lower ground floor. The beautiful brass bar and sunken vaults on either side of the room make the place look amazing. Gymkhana offers Indian traditional dishes and beverages. At the bar, you will be served with Indian punches and cocktails with spices you never heard of. As for food, the dishes are designed to be shared thus creating a very comfortable atmosphere.

Trishna

This is yet another example of a high class Indian restaurant. Located at 15-17 Blandford street in the centre of Marylebone Village, the restaurant won the Michelin star in 2012, so you can rest assured you will be served with high quality and delicious dishes. They focus mainly on South West Indian cuisine offering a very diverse menu to all guests. The chef likes to give a personal innovative touch to whatever he cooks by using seasonal ingredients and British seafood. The atmosphere is very relaxed and you will feel at ease among all the antique mirrors, marble tables and banquette style seats.

Benares

This restaurant is a Michelin star winner too, being awarded this distinction in 2007. Located at 12a Berkeley Square House in Mayfair, Benares combines Indian heritage with British ingredients to create a unique menu that amazes even the pickiest gourmand. This was the idea of chef Atul Kochhar who has previously worked at Tamarind where he got his first Michelin star. After a short time he decided to open his own Indian restaurant and here he is at Benares 6 years later in 2007 to be awarded a second Michelin star.

Amaya

Amaya sets the trend in terms of modern Indian gastronomy after many years of giving a fine dining experience to all its customers. The merits of the personnel were acknowledged in 2006 when the restaurant was awarded the Michelin prize for the Best Restaurant and Best New Restaurant. Amaya also received a Michelin star. The awesome thing is that guests can ask for a table close to the open kitchen to see how the chefs work. Amaya is located at Halkin Arcade, Motcomb Street.

Tayyabs

And last, here’s a family-run Indian restaurant that opened in 1972. It started as a café and has slowly turned into a busy restaurant. In spite of not having spicy prices, Tayyabs offers delicious food to whoever enters the door. The grilled lamb chops cooked Indian style will enchant anyone with functional taste buds. The restaurant is located at 83-89 Fieldgate Street and is full of happy customers at any time of day.
